For my ED502 Module I have had to create my own Brief & Spec for my product which will presented in a few weeks, so was an opportunity to see how I handle a D&T brief and specification.I have drawn upon my past experience but tried to be clearer and straight to the point.
When approaching my brief I have ensured i am answering the following questions which might seem quite basic.
WHAT (am i doing/creating/wanting to achieve)
WHO (who is the client?, Who will benefit from this product)
WHY (am i doing it/whats the point/why would someone want this/what are the benefits)HOW (am i going to make it/how will i know its successful)
WHEN (time restraints/organisation)
And the SPECIFICATION;
Height/width/Depth
Colour
Material
Time restraints
What next for this section?
As I am going to be presenting my brief & Specification in the a session next week will know if my brief is successful as it will be critiqued by tutors and members of the class. This will be a good indication of where I a may be going wrong and can pick up some good tips for a successful brief.
